Leadership Strategies for Greater Success

Hello! We'd like to introduce ourselves.

We are all leaders and this is meant to be a simple course to help you activate your leadership everyday to enhance your way of working and showing up in the world. Leaders don't need to be trained because we are all born to be leaders, instead we must unleash and allow our leadership to shine through everyday. This course is a beginners course that will give you some introductory insights and techniques to access your own leadership capacity. This can be beneficial in any work and personal environment in terms of how we choose to show up everyday and how we navigate our own goals, relationships, teamwork, and communication.

Let's a minute to take stock of leaders and role models who inspire you? Why do they inspire you and what qualities do they have that you hope to carry into your leadership style? Are there any qualities they have that you don't wish to emulate? Why? What do all these leaders have in common?

A strong leader possesses a combination of qualities and behaviors that inspire and guide others towards a common goal and purpose. While leadership styles and approaches vary, there are certain qualities and skills that are often associated with effective and strong leaders. Here are some key attributes of a strong leader that you can work to apply.

In this lecture I talk a bit about what it means to be an inclusive leader. Inclusive leadership refers to a leadership style and approach that fosters an inclusive and diverse work environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. How are you embracing diversity and welcoming different perspectives as you show up as a leader?

A closing to this lecture and opportunity for you to reflect on your leadership journey. How can you BE the change?

We are all Human first! Learn how to approach people and situations vulnerably and as a human first to connect and inspire greater collective transformational leadership.

Understand the emotions of their team members and use empathy to connect with them. Show understanding, validate their feelings, and demonstrate that you care.

There's a lot more to what you say than the words that you use! Learn how your non-verbal communication is  powerful.

We are all made up of stories. Learn how to weave storytelling as part of your leadership style to inspire.

What is cross-cultural communication?

Recognize your team members and ask and share feedback. 

Understand the differences between Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and understand how they are a part of better leadership.

What motivates you and your team? Use motivation and purpose to set clear vision for the team.

Think through some of your own leadership goals and use goals as a way to motivate and hold other accountable. Think through areas you can develop and help others to develop.

What is your role and responsibility on the team and what is that of others?

Build teams and be a leader who creates innovation through autonomy and flexibility.

Create collective leadership through accountability, questions, and coaching.

Celebrate the wins to foster a more collaborative and fun team culture

There's a solution to every problem and all it takes is being able to clearly identify the problem and reframe it towards concreate actions and solutions

Ask questions, ask others, solicit advice opinions and engage others in decision making

Embrace conflict and discomfort as part of better decision making and problem solving overall. Seek to find ways for mutually beneficial outcomes which will ultimately lead to stronger decisions.
